Circuit Classes – tone, strengthen and increase cardio fitness. Utilise various weights, accessories and cardio equipment in the Studio, I plan each session for you and each class offers variety to keep your body challenged so you get better results. You simply stay committed to attending your timeslot, put in the effort into your session and you’ll soon feel fitter and stronger.
Boxing (Punchfit TM) – punch your stress out of your body and into a pad – loads of fun and a great workout. Please enquire or let me know of your interest.
Pilates Classes – strengthen and stabilise core muscles (including the stabilisers of your spine, pelvis and scapula). Weak core muscles can lead to lower back, shoulder, hip, knee and/or neck pain or injury. This is a low impact mat class, although you’ll still feel the great muscle burn, you’ll receive total body conditioning while correcting muscle imbalances and improving posture.
All the above classes are workout classes and shouldn’t be utilised for long term rehabilitation. Be sure to advise me of injuries before classes as we ‘may’ be able to work around short term injuries though.
One-on-One personal training – these sessions can prepare you for the above classes or are perfect for meeting individual needs. It’s also an option if you have injuries or health concerns which limit your capacity for participating in the varied exercises or pace of the group classes.
Stretch and relax with ChiBall TM exercise – many of us don’t even realise we are holding unnecessary tension in our muscles (neck, shoulders and along our spine are common). You’ll learn to relax muscles when they aren’t needed therefore keeping pain, or classes can ease existing pain. All the movements in ChiBall are restorative and promote well-being, strength and toning. You’ll be able to think more clearly and your daily activities and other forms of exercise will begin to feel more effortless as you move more efficiently after letting go of muscle tension. It’s a great foundation class for everyone! It naturally increases the very important DHEA hormone which lowers with age thus causing all sorts of health issues.
Kiteboarding – if you or other family members or teens love surfing, skiing or wakeboarding, chances are you’ll love kiteboarding! My son (Alex, 14yrs) started lessons last Summer and loves it. These lessons are on offer from my younger brother Phil who is a qualified instructor and has been enjoying the sport for over 10 years, long before it was even popular. Guitar Lessons – most of you know my son Josh is a musician, he’s been teaching guitar for over 5 years. Most of his students are teens, but no matter what our age it’s never too late to learn a new skill, it’s great for brain health too – Josh’s mobile 0411 215 809.
Research into brain health shows that new neural pathways are created every time we: explore and then repeat ‘different’ movement patterns; try new activities be it mental or physical; taste different foods (healthy J); etc. Different movements also stimulate the production of healthy hormones and chemicals which are important for brain and body health. ALL AGES and ALL LEVELS WELCOME – new clients need to complete a ‘pre-exercise questionnaire’ before commencing and existing clients should notify me if there’s ever a relevant change to health conditions or medications that may effect the way you train – just email me if you require a form.
